Dave Munkhoff "Watch Your Back" CD
The CD, "Watch Your Back" was released in April of 2011. All of the music on this album was written, produced and performed by Dave Munkhoff, except for the song, "Pink Panther", which was written by Henry Mancini. Dave's approach to the Pink Panther Theme on guitar is totally unique from other guitar versions.
This arrangement stays true to the original Mancini version and includes "all" the parts of the song. Dave's ballsy, yet bluesy style on the verses (the main theme) is reminiscent of the late great Gary Moore. The bridge (the part that other guitarist leave out) is played in 3 part harmony guitar, admittedly inspired by Brian May.
The crying slide guitar on "Sandy's Song" is an ode to Dave's younger sister who died suddenly of a heart attack on March 5, 2011. This song is dedicated to the memory of Sandra Bavis.
